Low-Key Maternity Photos

I’ve never been a huge fan of maternity photos. I can’t put my finger on it exactly, but I never had the desire to pose a la Demi or Jessica in all of my pregnant glory.

But when my friend, and very talented photographer, Adriana Klas offered to do a mini-maternity and family shoot when we were on vacation with her in Sun Valley, Idaho, I couldn’t resist. The result: Amazingly lovely shots of my bump and little family of three. (I was 24 weeks pregnant in these photos.)

At the beginning of my second pregnancy, someone said to me, “Nic will never remember it just being the three of you.” My eyes started to sting, as they are now as I type this, and I held back tears. It breaks my heart that he won’t remember these wonderful few years he's had with just me and Daddy. Even though he won’t consciously remember them, I hope he always keeps the feeling of being supremely and uniquely loved for the two-and-a-half years of his life.
