Fight or Flight
I should have known I was pregnant early on. Why you might ask? Well, here’s a quick story of a moment of craziness that could have only been caused by an influx of pregnancy hormones.
Elle and I were flying back from a visit to my parents. So far the trip had gone well. We had made our connection in Atlanta and were waiting for the flight. As usual I scanned my fellow passengers for anyone suspicious looking. I saw some guy use the pay phone which I thought was weird. He also looked really nervous. My palms started to sweat. I started to feel uneasy about the flight. It was also the anniversary of Bin Laden’s death which my mom so kindly pointed out on the way to the airport. Nice. I called my hubby and parents and tell them I didn’t feel good about the flight – at this point I was close to tears. I got on the plane where there is an even more random scene. A guy had been in the bathroom since the flight started boarding; a fellow passenger was concerned the guy was doing something illegal and was listening at the door. This guy is so freaked out that is he has sweat soaking through his Brooks Brother’s button down shirt. He started mumbling that they needed to bring security on and that he had a bad feeling about this flight and he flies all the time. That put me on red alert. I wasn’t the only one feeling this way. Elle in the meantime was happy go lucky. I scored a seat for her and she was happy as a clam. I on the other hand decided we should get off (something I’ve never done though I do fly a lot.) I got off and spoke to the flight attendant. She said not to be concerned and that everything would be fine. She said she would personally check the bathroom. So I got back on. She checked the bathroom and then airport security came on and checked the bathroom as well as took the guy off the plane to interrogate him. As the minutes ticked by, the more uneasy I felt. I decided it wasn’t not worth the stress. I wanted off. Elle and I got off the plane and thankfully some family friends picked us up. This was about 11 p.m. at night and I was exhausted. I could feel my emotions going on a roller coaster but more than anything I felt the urgency to protect my daughter and myself (and also without knowing it, my unborn baby too.) It’s amazing how quickly that kicks in. I would find out about a week and half after this incident that I was pregnant.
Did you have any crazy incidents like this before you knew you were pregnant?

"As usual I scanned my fellow passengers for anyone suspicious looking."
You do that? I have never thought to do that. What did Tom say when you told him that you got off the plane? Did he think you were being nuts or was he patient with you?
I say you have to do what feels right to you! It may be a pain in the backside but at least you bought yourself some peace of mind!!
