Milkscreen is an easy to use at home test to detect the presence of alcohol in breast milk.

This week we are giving away a box of Milkscreen test strips! I’m a huge fan and used them while I was breastfeeding after a glass of wine. It’s not like I was drinking all the time while breastfeeding, but when I did enjoy a glass of wine with dinner or a cocktail with friends, I wanted to be sure that when it was time to feed Tazzy, my breastmilk wasn’t tainted. Nathalee refers to them as the “breastalyzer.”

The Milkscreen strips are super duper easy to use! All you have to do is express a few drops of breast milk onto the test strip.  Within two minutes you’ll see a color change if alcohol is present in your breast milk. Ta-da! It’s that simple.

You can buy Milkscreen test strips at Target and Babies R Us. You can also find a pack of 8 on Amazon for $14.99 and a pack of 20 for $24.99. At first I thought it was a little pricey but after buying a box and using my first test strip, I immediately realized the value! Piece of mind knowing if it was safe for me to breastfeed or not. This is one of my favorite items for new Moms, along with Dry Shampoo!
